The last seven days of JEE Main Mathematics preparation can make a meaningful difference to your score — but only if approached with a clear strategy. Mathematics is the subject where last-minute revision is most effective for formula consolidation and least effective for developing new problem-solving skills. The optimal final week plan maximizes the value of what you already know by ensuring that key formulas, standard results, and problem-solving approaches are fresh and instantly accessible on exam day.

Begin with a complete three-hour JEE Main mock test under strict exam conditions. Focus particularly on time management — use the triage approach, attempting easy questions first. After completing the test, do a detailed chapter-level analysis: list every chapter where you scored below your expected level, ordered by the number of marks lost. This personal weakness list drives the next six days. Cross-reference it with the 2025 exam analysis priorities from our mathematics exam analysis to ensure you are not over-investing in low-weightage chapters while under-investing in high-weightage ones.
Day 2: Calculus — Your Highest Leverage Investment
Day 2 targets calculus, the highest-weightage and most discriminating mathematics block. Focus specifically on the sub-topics your day 1 mock identified as weak — do not spread across the entire calculus block if only one or two sub-topics are causing errors. The most common calculus weaknesses in the final week are: complex definite integral properties (the symmetry property/King's rule), optimization problem setup in application of derivatives, and differential equation type identification.
For each weak sub-topic, solve 8-10 targeted problems at medium difficulty. Do not attempt the hardest available problems in the final week — consolidating medium-difficulty problems builds confidence and accuracy more effectively than struggling through advanced problems. Day 3 covers the algebra block with priority on the three highest-weightage algebra topics: matrices and determinants (which showed increasing difficulty in 2025), probability (which appears in almost every session), and sequences and series (AP, GP, and special sum formulas). For matrices, focus on determinant expansion by cofactors, the properties of determinants (which allow simplification before expansion), and the adjoint-inverse relationship. For probability, focus on conditional probability, Bayes' theorem, and the connection to combinations. For sequences, make sure you can rapidly sum AP and GP series and recognize the patterns in standard special series.

Days 4-5: Coordinate Geometry and Trigonometry
Day 4 covers coordinate geometry: straight lines (distance formulas and family of lines), circles (tangent conditions and radical axis), and conic sections (standard results for all three conics). The most efficient revision approach for coordinate geometry is to review your results database — the compilation of standard results organized by concept type. If you do not have one yet, the day 4 session should be devoted to creating it from our conic sections guide and our circles guide.
Day 5 covers trigonometry and inverse trigonometry. Focus on the compound angle formulas, the multiple angle formulas, and the key inverse trigonometry identities. These chapters are formula-heavy and benefit from hand-written formula revision rather than problem practice at this stage. Also use day 5 to cover the smaller chapters: mathematical reasoning, linear programming, and statistics — each requires only 45-60 minutes of targeted revision.
Day 6: Integration Day — Formula Consolidation
Day 6 is dedicated to formula consolidation across all mathematics chapters. Write out your complete mathematics formula sheet by hand: calculus formulas, algebra identities, coordinate geometry standard results, and trigonometric formulas. This is the final complete formula consolidation before the exam. Identify any formulas that you cannot recall without looking, and spend extra time on them. End day 6 with a focused 30-question mini-mock on your weakest chapters to maintain problem-solving sharpness.
Day 7: Light Revision and Preparation
Day 7 is intentionally light. Spend no more than 90 minutes reviewing your formula sheet and your mock test error log. Do not attempt new complex problems. Spend the rest of the day preparing logistics (exam center, timing), resting well, and maintaining the mental state that comes from thorough preparation. Trust your work.
